Decisions affecting the Casino Road neighborhood should reflect the needs and desires of its residents.
Through ongoing community engagement and leadership opportunities, CCR brings community voice forward so that residents are equipped to advocate for themselves and their neighbors.
The Casino Road community shows up
We host regular, bilingual listening sessions, often alongside our partners, where community members weigh in on their vision and priorities. In 2024, 150 residents took part in our “Family, Forum, Fun” nights which are part listening session, part family game night. These events not only strengthen our responsiveness to neighborhood challenges, but also build a sense of belonging and opportunities for neighbors to connect.

Building a stronger community, together
With Providence Institute for a Healthier Community, CCR launched a neighborhood-wide wellbeing survey in 2025 to guide our work and help us develop strategies to better support local families with their overall wellbeing, such as social connections, financial security, and neighborhood satisfaction.
We will conduct this survey every 3 years – making a long-term commitment to gather widespread community feedback. And by partnering with Providence, we can benchmark Casino Road community data against their yearly County-wide survey.
Over 500 community members responded in a single month to the 2025 survey, highlighting CCR’s trusted reputation in the neighborhood. [Later: Check out the data report here]
Advocating for systems change
While we know our resource navigation work is important in the short-term, amplifying the voice of the community is the long-term key to removing the barriers that families face.

Where we’re headed next
CCR is actively working toward a vision of Casino Road families accessing the resources they need – regardless of their cultural background – and advocating for themselves.
This year, we are:
- Mapping out upcoming advocacy opportunities with the ongoing Light Rail extension
- Creating a neighborhood asset map that will show us where gaps exist in upward mobility supports
- Launching our own Community Advisory Council
- Building partnerships with agencies who specialize in equipping community members to take on leadership roles
This foundational work will be key to how we approach our strategy for fostering power & autonomy in a neighborhood that’s home to so many natural leaders.
Join the community and support systems change advocacy!
